PROJECT: MINECRAFT

Who are Wriggle Jr.?

Your school is already a busy place of learning, where effective teaching takes place. At Wriggle Jr. our aim is to support your school with the implementation of technology to allow you to add another exciting dimension to your classroom!
By creating a dynamic, personalised learning approach for all children, from coding and robotics to languages and reading, technology can engage students in a differentiated way. There is no ‘right or wrong’ when it comes to the use of technology in the classroom, which is why we have developed solutions that best meet your schools' needs.
Wriggle Jr.  also provides a range of professional development modules that are designed to transform teaching and learning in your school. We can offer training for Office 355, Minecraft: Education Edition, Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Expert programme and more.

 What is Minecraft: Education Edition?

Minecraft: Education Edition promotes creativity, collaboration and problem-solving in an immersive open-world environment. The game-based learning platform provides educators with a differentiated way to engage students in the classroom.   It is completely classroom-ready with a wealth of online resources such as tutorials, classroom management tools and more.

Minecraft is the perfect tool to develop creative and problem-solving skills. Students can also learn how to Code on Minecraft with Code Builder. It easily integrates with Scratch, Code.org, Tynker and Microsoft Make Code. The open-world of Minecraft gives children the opportunity to explore their creativity and test their problem-solving abilities in this immersive and engaging environment.

The Minister for Education, Richard Bruton, recently announced a new primary maths curriculum, that integrates creative and computational thinking with coding. We feel that Minecraft: Education Edition will provide students and teachers with the perfect platform to explore activities and lesson plans that can be aligned to the new curriculum. At the launch of the Digital Strategy for ICT infrastructure Minister Bruton said:

“For the generation of children recently born, creative thinking and problem-solving skills will be absolutely key to how they develop in reach and achieve their potential. In particular, their ability to think critically and develop solutions in the digital world will be vital for their prospects in life.”

What is Project: Minecraft?

Wriggle, in partnership with Microsoft and DCU Institute of Education, are looking for schools that are ready for a mission! We want to invite you to take part in an exciting 'Proof of Concept' project to investigate the impact that coding and game-based learning can have on primary school teaching and learning.  Project: Minecraft is open to a very limited number of schools and applications are open until January 10th.

We want to utilise the power of Microsoft technologies by combining Office 365, Minecraft: Education Edition and other tools, with Wriggle Jr.'s expertise. Deployment, training and engaging workshops, which are delivered by our certified trainers, will ensure your students and teachers get the most out of Project: Minecraft.
