Transition Year is a valuable time for students' to reflect on their learnings and start thinking about future decisions in their life. With each school being responsible for the course content it is also a rare time where students can truly be creative. In the past these physical documents were stored away and quickly forgotten about by students. To tackle this the Digital Strategy for Schools has introduced ePortfolios.
An ePortfolio is an electronic repository used by students to collect, reflect and share their knowledge, skills, abilities and growth over time.
The Digital Strategy for Schools (2015-2020) has begun promoting the use of ePortfolios for TY stating in its key goals:
"To encourage and support the use of ePortfolios for teachers. - Collaborate with the Teaching Council, and other relevant professional bodies for teachers, in the use of ePortfolios in teacher CPD provision."
